Loro Arrives at SXSW
February 24, 2026
During SXSW in Austin, Outpost partnered with Loro to rethink what a restaurant launch could look like.
Rather than hosting a traditional press dinner, the goal was to build a cultural moment that reflected the spirit of the restaurant itself. Loro, the collaborative concept from Aaron Franklin and Tyson Cole, merges Southeast Asian flavors with Texas barbecue. The launch needed to feel just as layered.
Instead of inviting guests to sit, sample, review, and leave, we created an immersive evening that blended food, music, and conversation into a single, well-paced experience.
A hand-selected guest list of executives, tastemakers, media, and musicians filled the space. Representatives from The New York Times, Eater, Bon Appétit, and other leading outlets were in attendance, alongside cultural voices shaping the SXSW conversation that week.
Guests sampled Loro’s full Southeast Asian smokehouse menu while Aaron and Tyson shared insight into the collaboration behind the concept. The night continued with a music lineup curated by Secretly Canadian, featuring artists including Stella Donnelly, Joey Dosik, Marlon Williams, and Cut Worms.
The event sold out and introduced Loro as more than a restaurant opening, it marked the beginning of something with cultural weight. In the years since, Loro has expanded to multiple locations across Texas.
