Creating Belonging for a 500-Person Remote Team
The Ask
As a fully remote company, MNTN recognized a growing truth: culture cannot live exclusively in Slack, Zoom, or Notion. With a rapidly scaling, distributed team, the challenge was to create moments of real connection that aligned employees, reinforced values, and made people feel genuinely cared for, not just brought together.
Our Point of View
We believe company offsites shouldn’t feel like obligations or oversized conferences. They should feel like moments of hospitality at scale. By treating internal teams with the same care, intention, and anticipation typically reserved for VIP audiences, we could create environments where people felt welcomed, comfortable, and open to connection. When people feel taken care of, culture follows.
What We Did
Designed a Repeatable Cultural Platform
Outpost partnered with MNTN to create MNTN Meet, a quarterly offsite program that brings the entire company together in iconic destinations across the U.S. Each Meet blends all-hands moments, functional breakouts, and shared experiences designed to build trust, alignment, and a sense of belonging.
Orchestrated the Entire Guest Journey
We serve as an end-to-end partner, managing every touchpoint, from creative design and programming to flights, accommodations, ground transportation, production, and staffing. Each Meet includes a custom event website, clear communication, and thoughtfully paced itineraries so attendees never have to think about logistics and can stay present from arrival to departure.
Curated Experiences That Encourage Connection
Beyond meetings, we design a wide range of experiences tailored to each location, team, and moment in the company’s lifecycle. These may include professional sports games, snow sports, cooking classes, rodeos, swamp tours, or private concerts with top-tier talent. The goal is not novelty, but shared memory, moments that accelerate familiarity and trust.
Captured Culture as a Living Asset
Every Meet is documented through high-quality photo and video content, extending its impact beyond the event itself. These assets support MNTN’s employer brand, recruiting efforts, and internal storytelling, reinforcing culture long after people return home.

Since launch, Outpost has brought hundreds of MNTN employees together across Los Angeles, Aspen, Austin, Napa, Chicago, Miami, Nashville, Beverly Hills, Seattle, San Francisco, San Antonio, and Vail, with future Meets already planned. During this period, MNTN has been named a Top Place to Work by Ad Age three years running, reinforcing the link between intentional hospitality and a thriving remote culture.
